This project explores the relationship between the price to attend college and the median household income of each region in America. Specifically, we look at tuition cost and cencus data from each state to explore which regions in America demand the prettiest pennies to attend higher education institutions.
We then incorporate cencus data to investigate the relationships between the price to attend college within a region, and the median household incomes of those regions. We seek to answer if the price of a college has any relationship to the median income of the region in which it resides.
Do universities build barriers to entry for students living in different regions?
Do universities reside in regions where its residents could not afford tuition?
We are interested in these questions becuase the price to attend college is usually the largest barrier when it comes to a student's deciscion, and higher education should be accessible to more than just those who can afford it.
